Marv Hagedorn for District 14 Senate Growing up in Potlatch and working in the lumber mills has instilled strong Idaho roots and values in Marv. Out of high school, Marv volunteered and enlisted in the US Navy where he served twenty years on active duty in the naval intelligence and cryptology commuity. After recieving a "field commission" for his leadership and management talents and upon returning to Idaho, Marv brought those proven skills he learned as a “Navy Mustang” and put them to work in the private sector. Marv managed business operations profit and loss for an international company and grew it from $7 million to $100 million per year under his watch. He has negotiated and closed international business contracts valued over $200 million and is credited with three U.S. Patents in semiconductor manufacturing. Marv brings not only his strong work ethic to the table but years of experience building and maintaining relationships.
As a 6 year conservative member of the Idaho Legislature, Marv has served on the Joint Finance Appropriations Committee, Transportation and Defense, Resources and Conservation and Business committees serving the people of Western Ada County.
Marv and his wife Patty make their home in Legislative District 14, in Western Ada County. He is the father of two children, John who served in the surge in Iraq for 15 months and Kristin who he commissioned as a Navy Ensign. Both then followed their father’s footsteps serving their Nation in the Navy Reserves in intelligence positions. In his spare time, Marv is an avid outdoorsman and maintains an active role in many sportsman organizations across Idaho.
He is also a co-founder of the Wyakin Warrior Foundation, a multi-tiered mentorship and scholarship program supporting America’s wounded warriors. This program sponsors our nations heroes to attend college and specialized leadership development programs at BSU and CWI while assisting them in their transition from military duty to becoming community leaders.
